With tinge of sassiness, laziness and blurriness

All my senses are telling me Christmas is coming! I've been to some shopping centres these several weeks, those ribbons-neatly-tied gift boxes, Santa Claus figurines and mellifluous Christmas songs- O Holy Night by Josh Groban is still my favourite of all- chiming from one shop to another. I find exchanging gifts during ths kind of season is warmish. Anyway, if you were to buy me something, this post might be able to help out. =p

''Malaysia's First State-of-the-Art Modern-Tropical University Campus'' caught my eye when looking up to their huge advertisement hung against the building wall. It is there hanging since last year. And that's when I started looking forward to their new campus in Bandar Sunway. I know they don't provide dentistry course but no harm visiting! So I registered for the live visit as an ex-taylorian provided by Taylor's. Below are some of the photos taken during this morning excursion.

Lecture theater.

This 200-pax lecture theater was what really caught my breath.
What lectures can be conducted here? I think I would quite easily get distracted by the outside movement, but isn't it awesome?

The outside view of the theater.

Law, medical, business and hospitality students will be moving in on Jan 2010. Envy* (I'm actually surprised to know that there is school of medicine in Taylor's).

There will be a mini waterfall here.

This lake is harnessed as natural cooling system of the whole campus

One word, eye-opening. Who would have thought a campus could be this outstanding and green at the same time!

Tg. Sepat Trip

It was about time for BEC to organize the annual outing. At first, they were saying to have a 2D1N trip to Pulau Kukup, it didn't interest me since I went once when I was 9 and there was nothing much to tour around. But the moment they suggested activities during the night time, I felt my whole body perked. No, not clubbing, with most of them are 'aunties', that's quite impossible and don't think Kukup developed that much. Mahjong and karaoke are those that exciting my medulla oblongata. The last time I touched mahjong tiles was last year Dec!

However, however.

The outing ended up going Sepang on 14th Nov.

So our first destination was the Fuo Guang Shan Temple (FGS). Nice and tranquil. There's a somewhat big garden which I heard was super beautiful with all those flowers of vibrant colours and water pond. I missed that because of something more artistic. hahaha...

The one on the far left is mine. My caligraphy writing wasn't too bad. =p

Master Hsing Yun's One-stroke calligraphy exhibition. Well, when I entered, I must admit that I wasn't that artistic to understand the beauty of it.

Second destination: the Longan farm. Obviously famous for its Longans but we did not buy any as it's not the season yet so no Longan selling. Sad.

Many of them bought the bananas instead. See how fleshy they looked?

These long and green bananas were real huge but not meant to be eaten raw. I saw one of the aunties buying it, wondered how she put it into a dish.

These 'skinny' yams cost more than the better-looking ones back in KL

Board of photos of the boss with well-known ppl. I saw our former 5th PM in one of these.

This shows the day.

LingZhi in the mushroom farm.
They really had this plastic look and touch.

Monkey Head Mushroom.
This needed the longest time to grow (Forgot the exact duration)

We went to some other farms as well but I didn't take photos of those places as my phone battery was running very low.

The local famous pao shop.

My sis likes the 'Pao' boy. haha

Raining is always a nuisance to travelling. By the time we reached Sepang Gold Coast what was left was the last beam of light glowing from the far end, and still drizzling. My mum brought so many stuffs along for picnic on the beach. seeing the weather still as dark and cloudy as where we'd been, we left all of them on the bus and went on for our steamboat in one of the beach side restaurants. Lesson learned.

Back at Subang exactly 10pm.

Standing before the showering water for 2 mins, I decided it was not going to get any better. And I guess I've just taken the briefest bath ever. Staying in a place where there is no water heater installed, the last thing I want is rainy day, especially in the evening since that's when I mostly take my shower. Worse still monday to friday! Why didn't I realise the raining season in Malaysia is this long?? Arg. Please tell me it's going to end very soon.

OK. This might give you goosebumps. Don't read what is following if you can't stand creepy stuffs.

Two of my classmates got selected and were assigned to solve some extraordinary medical cases (although we're not medical students), and if they, by any chance, succeeded, both the school and they themselves would gain their fame. Fatihah and Sarah went on to check out each of their appointed patients with unusual sickness. The first case was the patient suffering from oedema. As I said it was something out-of-the-norm, the swollen parts occurred at the sides of the patient's shanks and thighs, and arranged themselves into a pattern which looked like fish bones. Besides that, the stripes were red in colour. BlOOD! Once they were broken, the person would die of excessive blood loss. That was for Fatihah.

What Sarah had was something super duper weird. Firstly, skin hairs were lush around the shanks. Secondly, each of the hairs standing up from the patient's skin was all fully covered with black material which texture was not much different from plastic. When the flexible hair was snipped horizontally, it revealed the real skin hair like being protected by the outer cover. After getting the patient for whole-body screening, Sarah was astonished to find that the patient's bones were hollow and filled with lots of strands of thickened hair, all curling each other in an unorderly manner.

It's more spookier if you can clearly picture them in mind like what I did. In my dream. It keeps haunting me from the moment I woke up! The more I wanted to wipe them off, the firmer they etched in my subconscious mind. Help!!

Green Tea

Ever since we bought the loads of green tea leaves during the trip to Hangzhou, I've started to have this habit of drinking green tea every day. Putting the health benefits on the back burner, it's a kind of enjoyment tasting the mellowness coming from every water molecules.

Thanks to the late Emperor Shen Nong, he who first discovered tea leaves could be brewed as beverages. Tea leaves are like us, have got siblings. White tea, black tea and yellow tea leaves. I'm not sure if I've tasted all of them but I believe they have their own uniqueness in some way. However, I prefer green tea. In fact, I'm one of the green tea lovers!

Again, there are classifications under green tea itself. How the tea leaves are being processed before brewing determine where the green tea products are from. Japanese green tea like gyokuro (finest of all Japanese green tea) and sencha, tea leaves are being processed mainly by steaming the tea leaves while Chinese green tea like Longjing, are by roasting.

Green tea is rich with potent antioxidant like polyphenol. It lowers the risk of malignant cancer occurrence, the death rate from heart disease and harmful cholesterol level (LDL). Actually they are more but these are the most common health problems to date. On the other hand, it somehow makes me drink more water in a day, so why not? ;)

Some suggestions here if you are to start having green tea:

Japanese GT- OSK: Sencha in the form of tea bags, economical.
- Gyokuro can be found in midvalley, powder form, very costly.

Chinese GT - MeiJiaWu Longjing: tea leaves originated from Hangzhou but can be found at Purple Cane.

Deepavali Valthukal

Yeap! I googled for that title. It means Happy Deepavali =)

Deepavali aka festival of lights, one of the important festivals that Indians celebrate. Apart from the legends related to this day, the food is exotic! This morning my family went to visit one of my dad's friends and they welcomed us with one whole table of delectable dishes: rendang chicken and mutton, putu mayam, tosai and idlis with coconut chutney. And muruku! It's one of the best tidbits! I had alot just now. Yummyyy.

To all my Indian friends, தீபாவளி வாழ்த்துக்கள் !!

This is the third week I'm here at Mahsa already! Time does pass fast, like I always say. To tell the truth, I'm still on facebook. Still able to find time on trivialities. Yes, I've applied for Digi broadband and that's the best way I can get access to the Internet in terms of value and coverage speed. Only 12 hours (or less) of class for the past 2 weeks. A balance between good and bad.

For the first 2 weeks, I realised that I could keep my eyes opened forcefully while the brain completely shut down. I know it's not something to boast of but when you rested for like almost a year, your body needs time to readjust itself to the new life. Sitting obediently and being attentive during the lectures are what I should adopt now on.

Anyway, holidays is on its way now. After the last Anatomy class tomorrow, I will be on holiday for 6 days! Oh, the feeling is back now. Happy advanced Deepavali !! =D
